While the top 10 Application Facebok mostly populated by games like the popularfarming game from Zynga, Texas Holdem Poker, FrontierVille and World Café,Microsoft's instant messenger application Windows Live Messenger being the second most popular in this list with more than 9 million active users daily.

Microsoft released the latest version of Messenger with deep integration with Facebook chat is less than three months ago.

In ranghka combining more than 300 million messenger users without worrying aboutreducing the quality of performance, both companies decided to establish thispartnership slowly.

Microsoft tells us, only about 20% of Messenger users have access to it, makes these numbers even more impressive.

When we spoke with Dharhmesh Mehta, director of product management for Microsoft'sWindows Live, early last week, he also noted that now has more than 250 million chat conversations between Messenger and Facebook, which lasted more than 1.5 billionminutes in total.
He also noted that there are more than 5 million active Messenger users in the iPhoneand 10 million on the BlackBerry.
Windows Live Messenger is part of Microsoft's Windows Live Essentials suite.
According to Mehta, 80% of new consumer PCs now shipping with pre-installed LiveEssentials, the number of users for Messenger will likely continue to grow.
